What We Love About Holle/Hipp/Lebenswert & Nanny Care---Udderly Organics LLC-- A USA Based Seller

Why Should I Buy From Udderly Organics:
There are many sellers now on eBay and also setting up their own stores online.  However, its really hard to know who to trust.  There are so many questions such as how are they storing the formula? Do they ship quickly? How do I know that the product I ordered is even legitimate?
Udderly Organics has been in business since 2013.  We where actually one of the original sellers for Holle, Hipp, Lebenswert & Nanny Care formula.  Since then we have built an amazing reputation for fast shipping, quality customer service and amazing products.  Our products are not irradiated, they are stored in a temperature controlled room and shipped quickly (1 to 3 day delivery).  Each order comes complete with instructions in English on meal preparation.
We choose to sell Holle organics because we too have a story to tell about our initial discovery for the scary ingredients that are put in American formulas.  We are more then thrilled to be able to offer this wonderful formula and many other products, that are much safer and are absolute proven quality.

The Story That Inspired Udderly Organics:
Our son was born on New Years Eve, 5 weeks early. When he was born, he was quickly taken down to the NICU to be monitored.   A few hours later, we were escorted down to see him and spend some time with him.  An hour later, the nurse comes in with a bottle of Similac; first thought that came to my mind was “seriously? The kid was just born and your poisoning him?”.  I scurried back upstairs to start pumping milk as it was torture to watch them feed that crap to my son.  Luckily, he spent just one week in the NICU before we were able to take him home.
Our baby was on breast milk for 6 months until we switched to formula due to personal reasons.  During that 6 months, I had spent hours ransacking the Internet trying to figure out what we formula we would switch our baby over to when the time came.  There was only 2 organic brands I was willing to try, Earths Best & Baby’s Only.  So we first put our son on Earths Best.  The first thing we noticed was the excessive spit up, doctors said this was normal, all babies spit up- a few weeks they prescribed him reflux medicine, which I never gave him, it didn't seem safe to me.  Another thing we noticed was screaming at the bottle.  He would take a few sips, his face would turn bright red and he’d start crying.  Finally, we noticed the disgusting smell of his poop & how red it made his bottom. My first thought was, what on earth is in this can?  Liquid fire?  I later on read about Earths Best "DHA".  They use hexane, a very toxic chemical, to extract it from algae.  The DHA used is a GMO.  I went to my local health food store and I demanded answers on why this product was labeled organic if in reality, it was not.  They came back and told me it was all over a late night debate which had won in favor of Earth’s Best.  It made me wonder, is the food I buy labeled organic, really organic?  Can these companies seriously persuade the USDA to label something organic because they are too tired and want to go home?  It’s scary really.  I stopped using Earths Best immediately.

I then started on Baby’s only, which I still believe is the only suitable formula available in the USA.  But the problems arose shortly after.  Our son was so severely constipated that he spent his days crying in pain.  Our doctor told us to feed him juice and give him over the counter laxatives.. excuse me?  But I guess that’s how most doctors are, instead of find a solution to the problem, let’s just cover it up and move on.  One other thing I noticed was the amount of bubbles produced in every bottle, like it was full of soap.  I was at my whit’s end, I have a baby who’s screaming in pain, pooping once every 5 days, hardly smiling anymore and I’m here losing my mind!!  I searched for a new solution and came across multiple blogs about Holle.

Everybody was raving, Holle this, Holle that.. what was so special about Holle?  And where can I buy it?  After a few more weeks, I finally found somebody who sold it,  for a very high price.. but I bought it anyway, I had to see what the fuss was about  and maybe, just maybe this was my answer.  I received Holle in the mail a few days later, surprised by the fact it came in bags instead of a tin can (completely BPA free, yippee) and gave it to my son.  I put the bottle in his mouth and from first sip (literally) his eyes started to get heavy, his shoulders dropped, he let out a sigh and its like he was floating in the land of Holle.  We no longer had anymore issues with constipation, pain, spit up, acid reflux and he was for once just happy to take his bottle.  Where had this formula been all this time?  It truly is a miracle in a bag.   The amazing thing is, its not just us that a Holle story, many people have struggled as we did to find something that would work for their baby.  At the end of the day, no formula will ever be as good as breast milk, its just not possible.  Just a few facts about Holle

*99% Organic Ingredients from local Bio dynamic farmers*There is no coloring/ gluten/wheat/ preservatives/ gmos/ msg/ brown rice syrup/dha ara
*No added fluoride (the fluoride in the formula comes naturally from the cows)/ No added sugar
*The ingredients are designed to be easy to digest and its creamy, not foamy!!
*Its Demeter certified & EU organics certified

There were some questions from people about the use of Maltodextrin and Palm Oil in Holle.  So I contacted Holle and asked them my self, here is the information they gave me :

  PALM OIL
*Although adults are advised to avoid saturated fatty acids and mono/poly saturated fatty acids. Infants in first year of life have a different metabolism to adults and children
*Fatty acids in human milk are mostly saturated
*Palm oil is used to meet the composition of fatty acid in human milk; one of the very few vegetable oils that are high in Saturated Fatty Acids. Most others are rich in mono/polysaturated fatty acids.  Using Palm with rapeseed and sunflower creates a good profile of fatty acid, meeting nutritional requirements

MALTODEXTRIN

*Maltodextrin is a non-sweet medium complex carb made from starch, if the molecules are too small, they too easily pass thru the intestine wall creating sugar highs, if they are too large, they are not easily digested
*Without the use of Malodextrin, the formula would contain more lactose (milk sugar) and have a more sweet taste.  Some infants are sensitive to high doses of lactose and suffer from colic as a result.  The mild complex structure of malodextrin makes it easy to digest, less sweet and keeps infants engry level while keeping them satisfied longer, this is because its slower to digest.

The reason why they use these ingredients is  to create the formula to mostly resemble breast milk & meet the nutritional needs of infants.  In the USA they choose to use GMO’s and processed material to make up for these necessary nutrients.  At the end of the day, the only way to get something that’s as good as breast milk, is to use breast milk.  Otherwise, Holle is your next best option.

One thing that is very special about Holle, they use milk from grass fed cows not treated with antibiotics and hormones.  These are happy cows, that live long happy lives in lush green rolling pastures.  I personally would never drink milk from a cow that’s kept in a small muddy feedlot, fed GMO corn and injected with steroids because she’s so ill from eating stuff that cows were never meant to ingest.  Babies are so small, so vulnerable, their bodies are growing so fast and they are far more likely to react to chemicals that are put into their food.  We may not even see these consequences for many years, maybe this is the reason for the obesity epidemic? Or the reason why we are seeing more cases of learning disabilities and mental disorders.  All I know is my child (and every child) deserves as the very least to get the best possible start to life, and that’s why I love Holle.

    3. Hello. Typically it is one scoop to one oz of water. Send us a email at support@udderlyorganics.com and I would be happy to send an exact guide

  3. We have the holle 1 formula from germany. The instructions say to boil the water...is this necessary? We already double filter the water we use to mix with the formula.

  4. Hi Lonna, it is not necessary no. It's a precautionary thing for parents using tap or impure water. Hope this helps! Thank you for reading :)

  6. Thank you so much for this informative article. I purchased 2 boxes of Holle for my baby who is due in 2 weeks and started to worry about when reading people's concerns on the palm oil, etc. I look forward to perhaps purchasing from you as I assume your in the US? What is your turnaround time? Also, can you please clarify preparation... Is it one leveled scoop per ounce of water? Can I feed it on demand? I am unable to breastfeed :/ thanks so much!!

    1. Hi Talia
Your so very welcome! Don't be too over concerned about the palm oil. Holle is using a natural source rather then a genetically modified source and they have been producing Holle for over 80 years. It's a well known and loved brand all over Europe and Australia. We are in Washington State and we will ship out same or next day. We always ship priority mail, so your parcel will arrive within 2-3 days. It is one scoop to one oz of water and you could definitely feed on demand. My son loved his formula when he was a infant and we would give him up to 30oz a day- he didn't start solids until a little later on so Holle was his primary source of nutrition for about 10 months. We love Holle and we wouldn't sell it if we truly didn't believe in it :) . Congrats on the little one.

      Thank you
      Louise

    2. Great, good to know! Thank you Louise. I also noticed you sell some of the other Holle items like the cereals and porridge. I will also plan on buying those as well as soon as little one starts on some solids! I feel so much better giving him Holle brand. So glad I found you! :-)

  7. I plan to start using Holle formula in the next week or two for my son who is 5 months old. I've been breastfeeding, however I am down to the last bit of my frozen milk, and I can't keep up with his needs. Has anyone mixed Holle formula and breastmilk in the same bottle? I'm trying to figure out the best way to make bottles for him in advance to have at daycare. Are you still selling Holle? Thanks for any info!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Jane, you most certainly could mix the two. I would just be sure that the formula is measured out correctly then mix it in with the breastmilk. Holle purposely comes in different stages to mimic the changes in breastmilk over the course of a 2 year period). There would be no harm combining the two at all. You could always have one bottles of each as well. When my son was at daycare, we would give the provider a small container of formula and she would make it. Depending on the situation, that may also be a easier solution. I am still selling, you may order on our website http://udderlyorganics.madefreshly.com/
      Thank you :)

  9. Hello,

My daughter was also born a few weeks early. She spent a few weeks in the NICU and due to that, my wife had complications with producing breast milk. The NICU placed our daughter on Similac Neosure as it contains 22 cals per 1 scoop 2 oz's of water.

We've tried multiple formulas and still have no success in making her feel better. Our doctor also tells us that it's normal for babies. My assumption is that it's normal for babies who are fed crap.

My question to you is if you know what the calories are for the 1:1 formula/oz water for Holle 1. I'm hoping to be able to keep the 22 cal mix so our daughter can continue to catch up to her weight/age.

I'm also glad I found your blog as I will be reaching out to you to purchase additional supplies. I have to wait a few days to get my shipment now so hopefully we won't have to wait as long going forward. I will send you a personal message to get shipping/pricing info.

    Thanks for your help!

    2. Hi Louise! The formula is working great so far! Our baby still has gas problems but it's not nearly as bad as it was. She also seems a lot more attentive and playful now that she's not on the Similac. So glad we're not feeding her that poison any more.

I plan on ordering more of your boxes but had a quick question. Is the 5.95 shipping per box?

      Thanks!

    3. Hi Ali, great to hear!! It is $5.99 for box 1 and each additional of stage 1 is $2.99. We do have bulk discounts (free shipping on 10 boxes) that will be available again next month. thank you :)

Did anybody had such experience? Her doctor said it could be something from the milk that hole uses.

    1. Hi Marcos, some babies will get constipation with formulas, even with the best stuff on earth :). It can be a sensitivity or something else missing. Have you tried pro-botics? I have a few customers who swear by pro-biotics when their babies are suffering from constipation. She may have a sensitivity to cows milk as well, it might be worth trying goat milk when she turns 6 months of age. Sorry your going thru these troubles, best of luck!

  11. Hi, is this formula marked as "do not irradiate" upon importing?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Tara
Yes, that sticker is present when we get our imports. But its only a precautionary thing. The FDA fortunately does not radiated every food item that comes into the country. They will radiate foods that are likely to have bugs or mold such as herbs & fruits/vegetables. Radiating is a very expensive process and is at the cost of the person importing the products into the country. A rumor did start a long time ago that everything, especially organic products were always radiated but its simply not true :)

      Thank you!

  12. Hi there! I'm thinking about supplementing my baby with Holle soon, and was wondering about the type of water to use? Is it necessary to use boiled water or can I use filtered water? Is a Brita filter sufficient? Or should I purchase distilled water?

Thanks for all of this wonderful information!

    1. Hello, it is not needed to use boiled water however, it is recommended to use fluoride free water which you can get from a reverse osmosis system, distilled water or well water. Some bottled waters are fluoride free as well. Be aware of nursery water as most do ad fluoride.

      Thank you!

  13. When does the formula go bad? How much should a purchase for a 3 month old to last to 6 months?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Our stage 1 will expire 2/30/16. It does depend on how much your baby drinks per day, if she consumes for example 23 oz a day, she would need about 46 boxes to last 6 months :) . One box can make about 90 oz of formula. Let me know if you have any other questions !

  15. now if the Holle formula would be any easier on a baby with a supposed cow's milk allergy than regular formulas sold here? Just wondering if it's the way cow's milk is processed here that makes it an allergen for my son, rather than the sole fact that it's cow's milk. Would love to get him off the soy, but haven't found any reasonable alternatives :(

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There is a theory that cows milk that has been overly processed (homogenized), is the reason that people develop allergies to it. Unfortunately, every formula is required by law to be homogenized (to weed out potential bacteria). Goats milk is a great alternative to soy, its easier to digest and doesn't contain as much casein as cows milk.

  16. By the way, we live in Canada and my son switched from breast to formula (first Earth's Best, then Enfamil premium) at 7mos. After suffering from coughing and vomiting, and a rash all over his face and body, he was diagnosed with a cow's milk allergy (although without an actual allergy test). Once he switched to soy formula, his symptoms cleared up within 2 days. But I would still love to get him off the soy, and I'm still hopeful he will be able to tolerate regular milk somehow, some way...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Elaina, You can order from us at http://udderlyorganics.com . We ship within 24 hours and it takes around 1-3 days to arrive (depending on your location). Goats milk is in general closer to breastmilk and therefore easier to digest due to the smaller fat globules. It does also contain more protein & fat per serving then cows milk. It also rarely causes lactose intolerance the way cows milk can. Thank you

  19. Hi there,

Do you know if Holle formula stage 1 can be prepared ahead of time and placed in the refrigerator? My LO is starting daycare soon and that is a requirement, to bring prepared bottles for the baby. If so, how long can a prepared Holle formula bottle sit in the refrigerator until it can no longer be consumed? 24 hours?

  20. Hello! I am so happy to have come across your blog and website! Our little one has been diagnosed with reflux and we've been using Baby's Only Lactose Free formula with an additional probiotic that seems to help some, but he continues to need reflux medicine to keep his symptoms at bay. I can't wait to try Holle and see if it would help us avoid the medication long term. Can you please tell me approximately how many ounces of formula one box of Stage 2 makes? And would it be best to try the Goat's milk formula instead? He has never developed a rash to the cow's milk formula we've used in the past. Just gassy, reflux issues. It's definitely worth the expense if it helps him, but we'd need to work out the cost for our budget since we prefer buying in bulk every month :) Thanks so much for your help!!

    1. Hello,

Stage 2/3/4 can make about 132 oz of formula. Goats milk is a better choice if possible as it is much easier to digest then cows milk :). If he's showing no signs of lactose intolerance, then perhaps stick to the cows milk for now as it is a little easier on the budget ( I total understand!). Best of luck!

  23. We recently tried Holle and are very happy! My question is for a 5 mo old exclusively Breastfed baby. We are supplementing small amounts of formula mixed with Breastmilk for times when mom is away for short periods. (hoping to eventually give him straight up bottle of formula for such occasions and possibly begin some weaning in a few months too) We have problems with pumping & storing milk. The box says Holle should be used within two weeks. Is this true? The way we are using it, we would never get through a box in two weeks! Is there a way to preserve freshness ( such as freezing it)? Don't want to feed him spoiled formula OR break the bank. Holle is the best stuff I've discovered -- too bad it took until my third kid. :). Thanks.

  25. I am so happy to have found your blog. I just purchased two boxes of Holle Stage 1, because you are temporarily out of stock on the Holle Stage 2. My daughter will be 6 months on Monday. Should I have purchased the Holle Goats milk formula? I plan to use the Holle formula as supplement. I have breastfed my daughter since birth, and I have noticed my supply has dropped since I returned to work. I can't seem to keep up with her demand. I plan to continue breastfeeding (and pumping), and use Holle to supplement. Thanks!

    1. Hello. Its totally up to you if you want to use Goats Milk. It is a little easier to digest then cows milk, however if your baby shows no sensitivity to cows milk then there is no harm in using it :). Stage 1 is technically okay to use up to 12 months of age; but of course to follow the changes of breast milk its always best to use the different stages. We hope to get stage 2 in soon, Holle needs to restart production first. Thank you
